CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS
There are all kinds of kid-friendly
activities in Telluride. Kids'
Style, TellurideStyle magazine's
section just for kids, offers a list
of great things to do, both indoor
and outdoor. Read the Kids' Style
online magazine. Some of the
activities available for kids are
listed below.
Kids' Night Out
This exciting kids-only activity is
also organized by Telluride Ski
Resort and is available 5 days a
week (Monday-Friday) during the
winter season. Kids can join their
favorite ski instructors in outdoor
activities as well as arts and
crafts, movies, video games and
dinner. The cost is $75/child for
the entire evening. To participate,

The Best Ice Cream
The Sweet Life in Telluride and
Mountain Village offers the best ice
cream and candy in town! Located on
Main Street (sunny side) in
Telluride and at Heritage Plaza in
Mountain Village, the Sweet Life
offers not only candy and ice cream,
but the Telluride location also has
great hamburgers served in a 50's
style parlor.
Peepers Kids' Club at Wilkinson
Library
Wilkinson Public Library in
Telluride offers both fun
kids-oriented activities and storytimes, ranging from toddler to
pre-school. For more information on

The Mountain Village Nursery is
located in the new Mountain Village
Activity Center. Infant care for
babies two months to one year old,
toddler care for children ages one
to three years old from 8:30 am to
4:30 pm. Call for programs and
activities.
The San Juan Outdoor School:

The San Juan Outdoor School offers
winter adventures including ice
climbing, backcountry skiing, winter
hut trips, snowshoeing as well as
special kids' snowshoeing and
women's adventures. We provide the
industry's highest quality
instruction and create comfortable
outdoor experiences for people of
all ages and abilities.

The Telluride youth center is open
year-round with pool table, ping
pong, crafts, food, big screen TV
and VCR movies. Open Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday 3:00-9:00pm,
Friday 3:00-6:00pm, and Saturday
4:00-7:00pm.
GETTING AROUND IN TELLURIDE
Gondola
The gondola between Telluride and
Mountain Village is unique; it is
the only transportation system of
its kind in North America and it is
also free to all passengers. The
gondola operates year-round and is
open seven days a week from 7 am to
midnight. The gondola takes
approximately 15 minutes from
Telluride to Mountain Village core
or vice versa and is a preferred way
of transportation for both locals
and visitors, whether you are just
going for a scenic ride or accessing
the ski slopes. The maximum capacity
of the gondola is 8 passengers/cabin
and 930 persons/hour.
Galloping Goose Shuttles
The Town of Telluride offers a free
bus system around town year-round
called the Galloping Goose. Shuttles
are being operated on a town loop
every 15 minutes from 7 am to
midnight. For pick-up stations,
simply look for the Galloping Goose
signs across town.
Dial-A-Ride
Town of Mountain Village also offers
a free transportation system;
Dial-A-Ride, throughout Mountain
Village. For pick-ups, use your cell
or house phone, the courtesy phones
located at the Mountain Village
gondola stations or just ask a
Mountain Village Guest Service Host
to call a ride for you via radio.
All the Dial-A-Ride vehicles are new
Yukons or Toyota Hybrids and easily
identified by their Mountain Village
logo. To schedule a pick-up, please
